Morning Yoga with Janelle- 1 hour class. Saturdays 9:00am

Classes will be open to anyone new to yoga or is a practicing yogi. Janelle believes that yoga is truly for every body and that there is room for growth in every being. Each class will begin with centering and clearing away mind cluttering thoughts so that you can be fully present in class. Janelle’s quiet and calm presence will give you permission to listen to your body. She will integrate the treasures of mind-body work through meditation, movement, breath work, and a deeper understanding of yoga philosophy. Her classes are designed to calm the nervous system and allow you to tune into your own personal needs.  You will leave each class feeling nourished and restored.

 

Chair Yoga with Janelle- 1 hour class. Thursdays at 4:30pm

If you sit at work all day or are even if are in your feet all day you can benefit from Chair Yoga! Come learn what you can do while at work or at home. Everyone can benefit from chair yoga. Young or old, injured you can benefit from this class. Chair yoga is a gentle practice especially designed for people who have difficulty getting to the floor! Janelle will guide you through a series of stretches and yoga postures that can be modified, but still affective. Each class includes breathing and guided relaxation. Expect side stretches, focus on shoulders and neck, some standing for balancing, and gentle twists. Short meditation will follow at the end. Through regular practice of yoga, you will notice improved flexibility, strength, balance, and posture. Even doing chair yoga can create lasting practices that can be carried into our daily lives. An added benefit is the ability to calm yourself and decrease stress through breathing and meditation techniques. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will have bare feet during the class to ensure stability. For your comfort, please do not eat 2 hours before class. Please let the teacher know of any pre-existing conditions or injuries she should be aware of.

Who is this a call to? Everyone. Anyone new to yoga or a practicing yogi! If you are struggling with stress, anxiety, low self esteem, and a need to schedule every moment of your life!

Throughout the hour we will move in a way that feels good, relieves tension, and cultivate SELF LOVE. Let this practice be YOUR practice. Let it support who you are at the moment. Even if that means hanging out in child’s pose or sitting upright against the wall. Janelle will help take care of your needs. By taking time to quiet the mind and feel gratitude in your heart, you will help shield winter blues, build your immune system, and create space in your heart for your own love to flow freely.

Class will begin by taking a moment drawing your senses and awareness inward. Janelle will lead your through a gentle practice, connecting your breath with each movement. The class will end with a guided meditation.

Qi Gong for Healing with John

The inner health of the body is just as important as the outer health; through the mind-body practice of Qigong you can improve your health and well-being, boost your immune system, reduce stress and improve longevity.

Using slow, gentle, graceful rocking and stretching motions combined with deep relaxed breathing; your circulation and digestion can be improved; it can help calm your mind, reduce tension and anxiety, and regulate heart rate and blood pressure, boosting energy.

The exercises are very effective and easy to learn.

Students may choose to sit or stand as needed; making this class suitable for all ages and abilities.

Tai Chi: 24 Yang Form Practice with John Robertson

This class is based on the T'ai Chi Qigong Shibashi; or '24 Form' combining that with ancient Qi Gong exercises that promote overall health and wellbeing.It  gently stimulates the internal organs, exercises the body, calms the nervous system and mobilizes the joints. With consistent practice, Tai Chi can leave you warm, relaxed and gently stimulated. In time, the mind can achieve a stillness and clarity rarely experienced with other forms of exercise. It helps to develop harmony with the world on a physical, mental, emotional and ultimately, spiritual level. This calmness eventually pervades the whole body, leaving you less stressed and more refreshed at the end of the day. Journey through the Chakras with Janelle and Monica

Come join us monthly while Janelle and Monica team up to bring you through the chakras combining aromatherapy, yoga, reflexology and reiki that will greatly enhance your practice. This blending will put you on a powerful journey toward positive health and wellness.

What is a Chakra?

Chakras are energy centers in your body that affect you physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This unique class uses yoga poses, visualization and breathing techniques to help you bring balance to each of the Chakra locations in your body.

The Asana practice of class will be designed to keep the body and spine aligned, which helps liberate and balance the flow of chakra energy. Poses can be modified to best suit your body. Each movement is designed to open blocked energy and bring insight into the chakras and their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. Throughout the class Monica will be doing reflexology and reiki.

As we begin this series we will create moments to re-establish a sense of inner stillness and quietude in order to feel grounded. Allowing yourself to feel safe before we move through each chakra and begin to do the work. The meditation, chanting and pranayama relax the mind, reducing stress and increasing energy. Classes will be open to anyone new to yoga or is a practicing yogi. Each workshop we will raffle off some goodies!
